The auto-renewal most time get you frustrated especially when they deduct your credit without your consent.
The good news is that all mobile networks in Nigeria including MTN, GLO Airtel and 9 Mobile allow the cancellation of data plans.
Airtel is even better; they ask if you’ll like to activate auto-renewal at the point of subscription to most data plans. But then again, what if you’d like to opt out later on? That’s a case.
1. How To Cancel Auto-Renewal On MTN
To stop Autorenewal on MTN, you have to use the specific deactivation code of your active data plan.
Send the deactivation code to 131 to cancel MTN autorenew.
You can only get this done by knowing your current data plan.
First, dial *123*5*1# and reply 2 to check your existing plan.
E.g: let assume you are on 1000 monthly Plan for 1.5g and the code is 161
Text “NO” 161 send it to “131” and you are good to go

2. How To Cancel Auto-Renewal On Airtel
send “STOP” to 141
Then Wait for confirmation of cancellation of auto-renewal.

3. How To Cancel Auto-Renewal on Glo
Kindly Send CANCEL to 127
You will receive a confirmation message from glo informing you that the operation was successful.
You can also call Glo customer care at 121 should case the code didn’t work out.
4. How to Cancel Auto-Renewal on 9mobile/Etisalat
To opt-out of auto-renew on 9mobile:
Simply dial *229*0# to deactivate this feature.
OR
SMS STOP to 229 and you will receive a confirmation message from 9mobile.
