How To Block Nigeria Banks Account Or ATM Card in case of Fraud,theft

Most of my followers do ask me how they can block their bank account and ATM CARD via mobile phone in case of theft, suspicious transactions or card loss.

Last week i got a phone call from my military friend who currently on operation in Maiduguri, Borno State North east Nigeria requesting to know how he can block his bank account temporarily due to frausters withdrawing money from his bank account.

Today i will teach you how to block various back account in Nigeria.

1. First Bank

With FirstGuard, you can automatically hot list or block your Verve (Interswitch) ATM Card via mobile phone in case of theft, suspicious transactions or card loss. Simply SMS “BLOCK” to 30012 via the SMS alert number registered with your account.

2. GTB Bank

Step 1: Dial *737*51*74# using any mobile number in Nigeria to lock your account free of charge.

Step 2: You will be required to provide the phone number registered to your account and your 737 PIN.

3. Fidelity Bank account

To block your card, dial

To disable your phone from Instant Banking services using any phone, dial

To block your accounts, dial

4. Zenith Bank

To Block Card: Dial *966*60# and select option 6.

To Manage cardless withdrawal: To create and cancel a cardless withdrawal code, simply dial *966*60# and select the option 7

To block account: Account holder should dials *966*911# from any phone and follows the text prompts. Such a restriction can only be lifted when the customer visits a Zenith Bank branch in person.

5. Stanbicibtc Bank:

Dial *909#, select my bank …Then select service request and finally select Block Account.

Alternative Simply sends Block card NUBAN to 30909 via your registered mobile number. Replaced the NUBAN with the 10-digits of your account number Link to the card.

6. Union Bank Account

Login to UnionOnline
Continue to your account
Click on self service
Select block/unblock debit card
Select your account
Input your security word
Enter Token and complete your request

Dial *329#, select self-service, select block account to block account

13.Sterling Bank
